Text Box: Remodel and Addition, Castro Valley California

The original house, built in the 1920ís, is surprisingly modern and strikingly similar to a house designed by the German philosopher Ludwig Wittegenstein for his sister.

With this inspiration, the 3 story addition draws its influence from the mid-life paintings of Hans Hoffman, with dynamic planar volumes that create overlapping spaces and forms.
